Sister Ann McKean Legacy Giving Fund

Introducing the Sister Ann McKean Legacy Giving Fund

Continuing one woman’s dream for generations to come.

When Sister Ann McKean founded Adelante Mujer, she began with a simple but powerful belief: when women are given the opportunity to pursue an education, the impact reaches far beyond one life.

Today, that dream has grown beyond anything she could have imagined. More than 110 women have graduated as physicians, and nearly 100 women at a time are now pursuing medical and nursing education through Adelante Mujer in Nicaragua and Guatemala. But Sister Ann’s vision was never only about the women studying today. It was about the women who would come next.

That is why we are so proud to announce the Sister Ann McKean Legacy Giving Fund, a permanent endowment established through the Fond du Lac Area Foundation.

The purpose of the fund is simple: to make sure this work continues for generations.

Annual gifts allow Adelante Mujer to change lives today. The Legacy Giving Fund helps protect tomorrow by creating a permanent source of support so that future generations of women can continue pursuing medical education, even through times of economic uncertainty.

And there are many ways to become part of that legacy. Gifts can be made directly to the endowment or through an estate or bequest, beneficiary designation, appreciated securities, donor-advised fund, or qualified charitable distribution from an IRA.

Legacy giving is ultimately about more than what we leave behind. It is about what we choose to make possible.

A woman who becomes a physician.

A family whose future changes because of her education.

A community with greater access to compassionate healthcare.

And another young woman, years from now, who is given the opportunity to follow the same path.

Sister Ann planted that first seed. Together, we have watched it grow.

Now, through the Sister Ann McKean Legacy Giving Fund, we can ensure that her dream—and the dreams of generations of women still to come—continue long into the future.

Your legacy today sustains women tomorrow.
