Five New Adelante Mujer Doctors

Another historic event was marked for Adelante Mujer when, on January 26, 2016 URACCAN University students participated in a graduation mass at St. Peter Catholic Church in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua.

On January 27 the Hippocratic Oath was taken and five Adelante Mujer students became doctors who will soon begin their first year of internship at the local hospital. I’ll let the photos tell the story.

On the afternoon of January 27, the soon-to-be doctors and their guests were invited to the Auditorium of the Autonomous Regional Counsel Government Building for the ceremony when students pronounced the Hippocratic Oath. Because Sister Ann and I were unable to attend the event, we are very grateful to Sister Marise, CSA missionary in Rosita, Nicaragua who travelled to Puerto Cabezas to represent Adelante Mujer and deliver a speech in our name.

Currently there are an additional 23 Adelante Mujer students in various years of the Intercultural Medical Program at URACCAN University.</p>
We invite you to join this worthy cause. No contribution is too small or too large.
God bless you.
